Sunday 28th – The Castle Collection

Usual start time of 8am at T&P – as ever weather permitting

Heading off towards Meigle (for the first time), and then on to Glamis (castle one). From castle one, we will be going to Forfar (Castle two – no remains, but marked by castle street). We cross Forfar and head out the B9134 to Aberlemno  and Brechin (castle three) .

In Brechin we go up Airlie Street, North latch Road and Pittendriech Road… crossing under the A90.  Taking the first left and heading for Careston (castle four – no main no X). Rolling on through Fern we again go left at a rather odd triangular junction … this road may be followed all the way to NorthMuir (Inverquharity  Castle five)or we go to Tannadice and in the Brechin road.

Out of Kirrie, and along the 8 mile road, we will head to Meigle for the second time. Only this time a stop for light refreshments will be required. before heading back to T&P

This Sundays morning dawn raid is about 65miles – And it is not a race!
