For a spot of mid-summer longest day fun. How about on the EVENING of Saturday 21st June we venture up to Dunkeld and then head off on the Mountain Bikes to Loch Ordie.
I’m up for that Dave
Count me in … are their other tracks that we can use to come back down from Ordie?
Sounds good for me, Ashley (maybe) and Michael will be there too. What time? will it be a midnight run with tent and sleeping bags to watch the sun rise?
If we camp … can we make Spike carry all the gear? or Do multiple runs to get all the stuff up there?
Happy with that, do you still have the trailer? I could hook it on the back of his bike and load it to the gunnels he will never know!
Trailer is out on loan in Stirling! But… I could get it back 🙂
I had in mind meet 7.45 and head up and around the loch but no camping. Maybe a hip flask or some other bottle of refreshment 🙂
7:45 sounds fine … but if we don’t hang about at the top of the hill to see the sunset and the sun rise in our druids robes… 🙂
According to the very accurate internet… Sunset in Dunkeld is 22:09 and dusk is 23:14 … so we should really be dragging the sacrificial goat to the loch for about 10pm (9pm from the car park)…
I suggest we take a wee brew and a disposable BBQ (for the sacrifice obviously) or just some Burgers if you prefer somebody else to have made the sacrifice!… to then wait out the few hours of absolute darkness until dawn at 3:17 and sun rise at 4:23
